Anatolia College invites nominations and applications for the position of Director of its Boarding Department and the living-learning community it represents.
Anatolia College seeks a committed and engaged education professional to serve the philosophy, aims and objectives of its residential program for high school students in Ingle Hall, to manage the day to day functioning of the Anatolia Boarding Department, and to maintain the smooth operation of the department including the attraction of numbers sufficient to justify its continuance.
Candidate Profile
• Five to ten or more years of experience in a related field • Demonstrated organizational and cooperative skills • Ability to work with adolescents • Flexibility in thinking and action • Availability to work late hours and weekends • Dynamic, self-motivated and with a high degree of integrity • Fluent in oral & written English and Greek • Possessing a university degree in relevant subject(s) is desirable • High school teaching experience a definite plus • Understanding of the “Anatolia Ethos” and how it is displayed in a living-learning environment
Main Duties and responsibilities
• The orientation and supervision of boarding department advisors • Cooperation with the directors and teachers of Anatolia and other school departments • The preparation and submission of the budget for the boarding department to the Vice President for Administration • The supervision of the boarders’ academic performance • Daily presence in the boarding department and personal contact – communication with the boarders • Supervision of food and cleaning services provided to the boarding department • Exercising discretion concerning personal problems and/or opinions expressed by boarders • Responsibility for the boarding department reservations, food and cleaning services provided to outside groups accommodated by Anatolia College / ACT • Coordination of supporting staff members and Anatolia Fellows supporting the operation • Liaison with the Pinewood School where a number of the borders are enrolled • Must reside in campus-provided housing adjacent to Ingle Hall
