Boarding Department

The student dormitory provides housing for some 65 students - approximately equal numbers of boys and girls -- mostly from Greece, but also from the United States, Albania, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Bulgaria and South Africa. Most of the students are from towns and villages in Greece who attend Anatolia on scholarship, having been accepted on the basis of a competitive national examination. Other boarding students are enrolled in the school's English-language International Baccalaureate Program.

A room in the renovated dormitory

Boarding students are housed in a recently renovated facility. The renovation was made possible by funds provided by a grant from the U.S. Agency for International Development, and by gifts from friends and alumni. The dorm has 30 student rooms, some large enough to be used as triples when there is need, all with private baths, air conditioning, and access to the Internet. The Boarding Department is run by an experienced and committed staff, most of whom are also teachers at the school, and is supervised by a Director with over three decades of experience as a teacher and dorm counsellor. A limited number of dormitory places are usually available for suitably qualified fee-paying students. For details please contact the Vice President for Secondary Education, Mr. George Lisaridis, at mailto:glisaridis@anatolia.edu.gr

Each year the school hires an intern, usually a recent graduate of an American university who is interested in living and working in Greece, to help in the dorm. Those interested in applying for the position of dormitory intern should contact the Vice President for Secondary Education, Mr. George Lisaridis, at glisaridis@anatolia.edu.gr. Greek-Americans who are recent college graduates and who are interested in renewing their ties with Greece are especially encouraged to apply.
